System Requirements

  • The following requirements must at least be met to run i‑net PDFC. As a rule of thumb, the requirement per additional concurrent comparison is 2 CPU cores and about 1GB of RAM for a simple comparison.
  • Processor
    • at least 2 CPU cores for a single concurrent comparison on Desktop or command line
    • at least 4 CPU cores for a single concurrent comparison on the Server or API
    • at least 6 CPU cores for two concurrent comparisons on the Server or API
    • at least 8-10 CPU cores for four concurrent comparisons on the Server or API
  • Memory
    • 2 GB RAM in addition to the requirements of all other components for a single concurrent comparison
    • 3 GB RAM for two concurrent comparisons
    • 6-8 GB RAM for four concurrent comparisons
  • Hard Disk Storage
    • minimum of 1.5 GB free space
    • this includes 500 MB installation directory and 1 GB for the Temp directory of the system
  • Operating Systems
    • Windows Server 2025, 2022, 2019, 2016
    • Windows 11, 10
    • Linux / UNIX
    • macOS 13+
    • Docker
  • MongoDB is required for optional cloud setup with multiple nodes.
  • Server-Client Requirements
    • The i‑net PDFC Server is primarily operated using a web application. The latest browser versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, as well as MS Edge are supported.
    • Depending on the browser manufacturer's support, the i‑net PDFC Server can also be stored as an application directly on the desktop or start screen using PWA technology. This integrates the i‑net PDFC Server even better into your user interface and only displays the really important things.
    • This applies on PCs with Windows, macOS, or Linux, as well as on mobile platforms.

License Requirements

  • The following technical requirements must be met for the license to be valid:
  • Standard, Plus and Single Server License
    • the server must be a physical server
    • the server must not be located in the cloud (AWS/EC2, Azure …)
    • the server must have a static, physically attached IP address that will not change
    • the server's static IP address must not be provided using a WiFi adapter (e.g. using a USB WiFi adapter)
    • the software must not be run in a containerized environment (Docker, Kubernetes …)
  • Site License
    • the server must have a hostname, verifiable by DNS (no internet required)
      • Example: Licensed domain is
        internal.my-company.com
      • Hostnames can be:
        testing.internal.my-company.com,
        production.internal.my-company.com, or similar
    • OR
    • the server must have a verifiable external internet address (reverse DNS lookup, e.g., via the company's internet connection)
  • Private Cloud License
    • the server must be reachable from a pre-configured URL that has to be set up on the Configuration → Webserver → Externally visible URL
    • the server's license must match the FQDN part of the configured URL
  • Public Cloud License
    • the server must be reachable from the internet using port 80 or 443 (standard HTTP/S ports)
    • the server must have a verifiable external internet address (DNS lookup)
  • The server may be run in a containerized environment when using a Cloud / SaaS license.
  • A Cloud / SaaS license does not allow running Desktop or Plus license features.

Installation Instructions

  1. Download the i‑net PDFC Server.
  2. Run the installer and follow the instructions.
  3. Continue the setup in the opened browser window.
  4. Configure the web server and optional settings.
  5. Start the setup execution and wait for the installation to complete.
  6. Log in with your system account.
  7. Enjoy!

Trial License

  • You can test the i‑net PDFC Server completely free of charge for 30 days. We will provide you with personal support from the very first day.
  • The setup requires an internet connection to receive the trial key from the i‑net software website. If the server cannot access the inetsoftware.de domain, you can also manually request a trial key.
