WebSphere 5 Data Source 4 Configuration

  1. Click on the “New” button.
  2. Enter a name for this data source in “Name” (e.g. Oracle Server Data Source).
  3. Enter the jndi name in “JNDI Name” (e.g. jdbc/Oracle).
  4. In the field “Default User ID” enter the username for your database.
  5. In the field “Default Password” enter the password for this user.
  6. Click “OK” and the new datasource has been created.
  7. Now select the new data source.
  8. Click on “Custom Properties” in the section “Additional Properties”.
  9. After you have clicked on the “New” button enter “serverName” in the field “Name”.
  10. In the field “Value” enter the name of the server (e.g. LocalHost).
  11. Click “OK”
  12. Now enter in the same way the value for “serviceName”.
  13. After this you should have the following four entries in the “Custom Properties” list.
  1. Click on “Save” and the data source configuration is finished!
