New features

  • Record Selection Formula: The like operator with an array is supported, e.g.: {table.field} like [122, 365, 7684].
  • Property ConnectionPoolTimeout has been added.
  • Export to PostScript 3 has been added, that means embedding of TTF fonts in the ps file is supported.
  • Support for the ToWords function in Portuguese and Polish has been added.
  • Crosstab: New API methods have been added:
    • CrossTabCell.setHeightByFieldElements()
    • CrossTabCell.setWidthByFieldElement(int)

Fixed bugs

  • The regression in version 5.1 with Running Total: “On Change on Group” and Reset “On Change on Group” has been fixed.
  • Java Viewer: The key of the label “to” that is used in the printing dialog has been renamed to work around a JVM bug.
  • A bug with vertical lines through the repeated group header has been fixed.
  • A “Broken Subreport Link” exception has been fixed.
  • A bug with prompts for “subreports on demand” has been fixed.
  • Servlet does not lookup for datasource from application server.
  • The method checkProperties was called twice (from ReportServlet and from cache).
  • Exception “The stored procedure has more parameter X as the report design Y” occurs if the executed report was designed with Crystal Reports 9 and use Oracle stored procedures with parameters.
  • Database connection: Numeric parameters for stored procedures now will be send in the correct scale.
  • The formula “Mode” returns now null, if no records are found for a field (column).
  • Crosstab:
    • Under some circumstances each line of a cross tab was displayed on a separate page instead of the complete crosstab on a single page.
  • RTF export:
    • A higher accuracy (twips) is used for the positioning of lines, boxes and fields.
  • PDF export:
    • A higher accuracy (twips) is used for the positioning of lines, boxes and fields.
    • The barcode font “I2OF5TXT.TTF” not found if TTF font embedded is used.
    • The position and height of the barcode font “EAN.TTF” is wrong.
    • Corrupt .pdf file created if a very large image added to the report at runtime (RDC).
  • Java viewer:
    • Java viewer does not request prompt values.
    • Java viewer does not request prompt values if the prompts used in the Record Selection Formula only.
    • The Java viewer in a Java 2 JVM print reports (designed in landscape) in landscape orientation only if the orientation in the printer settings has changed to landscape for each print job.

New features

  • The ResourceBundle “LanguageResource.properties” has been reorganized and hard-coded strings have been added to the ResourceBundle.
  • The ResourceBundle “LanguageResource_de.properties” for the German language has been added.
  • MS Access Views with parameters are supported now.
  • HSQLDB (formerly Hypersonic SQL) is supported now.
  • SABDB is supported now.
  • In the “Add Database” dialog system tables are shown in a separate tree node.
  • Now elements can be resized with shift+arrow keys.
  • Resizing of crosstab elements is supported.

Fixed bugs

  • A ClassCastException has occurred on Windows XP while adding subreport.
  • Formula Editor: NullPointerException has occurred after double click on a node (e.g. “Database Fields”) instead of a field.
  • Field browser has not been refreshed if a field had been added or if a report was opened or created and a report has already existed.
  • Database connections with a password which is not empty caused a NullPointerException before an export because the password had not been serialized and the connection could not been re-established.
  • Parameter field: An entered default value could not be removed.
  • Menu items in menu “Report” were disabled in subreports if the main report had no database connection.
  • Database Wizard: Tables and Stored Procedures could not be removed by pressing the “DEL” key.
  • Field browser: Database fields had been sorted alphabetically. Now they are listed like they appear in the database.
  • Chart properties can now be edited directly after the chart has been added.
  • Section have been displayed wrong if you had more than 26 sections.
  • Sections property dialog could have grown over screen size if you had a large number of sections.
  • Sybase: Stored Procedures with parameters could not bee added.
  • EditorPage has not been updated if an field was deleted in the fieldbrowser.
  • Settings for margins were disabled in the “Page Layout” if user defined labels were selected.
  • A database field added to EditorPage was to small, minutes and seconds were truncated.
  • Fields added to the EditorPage have not been aligned to the grid.
  • Elements (except fields) added to the EditorPage could have caused an enlargement of the section in y-direction.
  • In the section properties dialog the current section has not been selected.
  • It was possible to set no-line property for a line object which does not make any sense.
  • Elements could have been moved to a negative x-position in some cases.
  • Box elements caused an error if they were resized over multiple sections.
  • User-defined page layout could not be used.
  • Prompt properties: It was possible to enter invalid default values.
  • Prompt properties: Changes to properties had not been considered in every case for undo/redo actions.
  • Shadow of box elements remained although the rounded corners were selected.
  • Inputs in the AddSubReport dialog had not been checked for errors.
  • SQL-expressions: Changes to a SQL-expression had not been considered for undo/redo actions.
  • A Section remained marked as suppressed in the editor page if the Suppress-Formula for this section has been deleted.
  • Changes to an TextObject had not been noticed if editing was not stopped explicitly before saving or closing.
  • NullPointerException could occur using Oracle Stored Procedure without parameters.
  • Using hyperlink formulas could have caused corrupt reports.
  • Changes to zoom settings had not been saved for undo/redo.
  • Double click on TextObject caused scroll to the top of the report.
  • Bug with crosstab grid lines has been fixed.
  • Multiple bugs in the crosstab design view has been fixed.
