Sample Application

The sample application that is included in the documentation (sample.java) is a sample for i‑net Crystal-Clear as standalone Java application. That means it uses i‑net Crystal-Clear along with the Java report viewer (CC-Viewer.jar) together in one standalone application on the same computer. Therefore there is no need for the usage of a server application or a web server. In this case you need only this one application to display, print or export your reports.

1. Install the Java VM
   If you have not installed a Java VM already then you should do it now. We recommend Java SE 5 (or higher). You can download it from the Java SE download site.
2. Download i‑net Crystal-Clear, documentation and samples
   You can download i-net Crystal-Clear from our website.
   The file CrystalClear<version>.zip contains i‑net Crystal-Clear, the Java report viewer, the i‑net Designer, the documentation, Java code samples and this sample application (sample.java).
3. Request a trial license key from our website or purchase a license
   You can request a trial license key for the IP address of the machine running i‑net Crystal-Clear on our website or you can purchase an i‑net Crystal-Clear license in our Online Store.
4. Install i‑net Crystal-Clear runtime library and the documentation
   Extract the file “crystalclear_<version>_win.zip” in a directory on your hard drive, e.g.: “C:\CrystalClearSetup” and execute the setup.exe to install i‑net Crystal-Clear. Enter the license key (trial or purchased) in the field “License Key”.
5. Execute the sample application
   The file sample.java is located in the root directory of the i‑net Crystal-Clear code samples: ”<install_dir>/client/documentation/samples”. Compile this file with your Java compiler and then execute it on the console:
   • java -classpath .;./core/CrystalClear.jar samples.Sample
     or on Linux:
   • java -classpath .:./core/CrystalClear.jar samples.Sample
