Supported Report Template Formats

A report template is a file that describes the layout and look and feel of a report. A report template can be created with a report designer. The typical extension for this files is *.rpt. i-net Crystal-Clear can read and render different report template formats. The following formats are currently supported.

i-net DesignerXML

The i-net DesignerXML is the built in report designer of i-net Crystal-Clear. You can use the designer for free. You can install it on an unlimited number of workstations. With the i-net DesignerXML you can open all other supported template formats and save it in the i-net Crystal-Clear report file format.

Crystal Reports 6.5 - 8.5

Reports designed with these Crystal Reports versions can be executed by i-net Crystal-Clear on all platforms.

Crystal Reports 9 (or higher)

Reports designed with these Crystal Reports versions use an encrypted file format. Therefore the public API from Crystal-Reports have to be used to get the information about the report template. Reports designed with these Crystal Reports versions have to be saved in the i-net Crystal-Clear report file format on a Windows systems on that Crystal-Reports is installed before they can be executed with i-net Crystal-Clear on all platforms. Microsoft RDL Format

This is the XML file format of the Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services. It can be executed by i-net Crystal-Clear on all platforms.

Third Party Tools

With the i-net Crystal-Clear API it is possible to write your own report template generator, e.g. within your own Java application.
The i-net Crystal-Clear API supports all features of the i-net DesignerXML so that it is possible to create and/or modify your report templates at runtime.
