The new implementation of the (Swing) Java viewer comes with a new look and feel and a lot of new features:
You can select between four view modes to display the report pages in the Java viewer. With the continuous view you can scroll through the pages of the report without having to click on the next or previous button.
Each report will be displayed in a different tab, like Drill-Down or sub-reports on demand reports.
You can select text or create snapshots of the report view and copy them into the clipboard.
The new viewer supports search over the entire report, with wildcards such as “*”, regular expressions, as well as highlighting of the search results in the report view.
With the new print and export dialogs you can print and export the report and scroll through the report pages on the screen at the same time. The viewer is not locked during print or export as it used to be. Additionally, in the progress bar at the bottom of the viewer you can see the actual progress of the printing and/or exporting.
This version contains a completely new prompt request dialog with support for
The embedding of true type fonts is now supported in the Java viewer, also. The advantage is that true type fonts can be used in the reports but they do not need to be installed on the client computer. This is very useful e.g. in an Internet environment.
Starting with version 7.0, i-net Crystal-Clear uses JFreeChart as its library for chart creation. The advantages are:
Also new in charts version 7.0:
Instead of configuring the database connection each time for each report it is now possible to create data sources in i-net DesignerXML that can be reused in multiple reports.
The properties for the database connection, e.g. host name, user, password, … need to be set only during data source creation. It is possible to export and import data sources in i-net DesignerXML and in the configuration tool of the i-net Crystal-Clear runtime.
The upper left corner of the cross tab can now be used as a container to add headings, descriptions or design elements. It enables you to add field elements, texts, java beans, images, boxes, and lines to this area, which will be repeated in every cross tab header.
Version 7 of i-net DesignerXML supports many new features and has a modified look and feel.
In the Report Structure View you can see the sections and objects used in this report and you can see which objects are included in which section.
If you drag a database field from the field browser into the report then a text field will be added to the above header section.
Since the parameter fields are listed on the left side, it is now possible to modify all existing parameter fields and/or insert or delete parameter fields in the parameter field dialog without having to go back to the field browser.
A “Prompting Text” can be specified. This will be displayed in the prompt request dialog of the Java viewer.
Also, it is now possible to set multiple default values for each parameter field. The user can select one of the default values or can enter another value in the prompt request dialog of the Java viewer.
Starting with version 7.0, the look and feel of the properties dialog has been improved. Instead of a tab bar the property dialogs now have image buttons on the left side. Also, they have a dialog description area at the top of the dialog.
