i-net Clear Reports components

With the setup you can install:

• Designer: Installs the i-net Designer as standalone Java application. With the designer you can create, modify and execute your own report templates.
• Server: Installs i-net Clear Reports as a Report Server into the selected installation environment
• Custom: Install i-net Designer and report server on the same server in one step or install just documentation and/or database driver(s).

If you select the installation of i-net Designer then it installs all components, including database drivers, sample reports, Java Beans and documentation into the specified installation directory.

If you install i-net Clear Reports as Report Server then you can select the installation environment, e.g. Apache Tomcat.

To deploy the i-net Clear Reports Servlet into an installation environment (application server or Servlet engine) that is not listed in the above dialog then select “Generic Servlet”. This will create the universal .war file that you can deploy. Before you can deploy it, it could be necessary to modify the deployment descriptor. Please have a look at the documentation of your application server.

If you will use i-net Clear Reports in a client/server environment without web and/or application server then you can install it as Standalone Server with or without service.

To get the library files necessary to embed the report engine into a your own Java application, install the standalone server without service into a temporary directory.

In the following component selection dialog you can select the components you like to install with your report server. All database drivers and Java Beans are enabled by default in the server installation.

i-net Clear Reports contains JDBC drivers for the following databases: Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL, Sybase, SmallSQL and .CSV files. To use additional databases it is necessary to add the JDBC driver for this database to the class path.

i-net Clear Reports offers the possibility to extends the report design with Java Beans. During setup you can choose the bean to be installed from the list of default beans. To use additional Java beans it is necessary to add it to the class path.

You can install the Java code samples, sample reports, the i-net Clear Reports manual (HTML) and the written guides (PDF) using the setup.
